By the age of 15, Coltyn Turner had been through enough pain to last a lifetime. Diagnosed with severe debilitating Crohn’s Disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus at 11 years old, Coltyn has struggled with growth, fatigue, severe pain, flu-like symptoms and side effects caused by westernized medications.

Coltyn moved to Colorado to access a medication not yet available in his home state of Illinois. Cannabis. Since starting cannabis treatments Coltyn has gained clinical remission from all his aliments.

Coltyn’s story is one of hope, inspiration, strength and a willingness think outside the box. His bravery to speak out about his trials with Crohn’s Disease and Cannabis has changed the minds of legislators, doctors, parents and patients around the world. His determination to help others and ensure access and knowledge about cannabis has lead him to be the 2015 Cannabis Advocate of the Year. Civilized Publications also mentioned him as one of 5 newsmakers that changed the cannabis conversation. You can find Coltyn at the Colorado State Capitol Building advocating for the rights of cannabis patients on any given day.

Coltyn has done interviews about his success with cannabis use on VICE, HBO, CBS, NBC, National Geographic, The Jay Thomas Show on Sirius XM and many newpapers and magazines around the world.

Coltyn’s quote that was heard around the world begs one to think about the cost of westernized medicines on peoples lives. Would you “rather be illegally alive than legally dead.”
